Practice to a Metronome
Many of our productions have flourished because of the flexibility to adjust arrangements after recording to create the best listening experience. This is only possible because our sessions are primarily recorded to a metronome. Knowing the BPM (beats per minute) of your song and practicing to a metronome will make sure your recording experience is efficient and more importantly, creative.
Record a Demo
Recording a demo of your song(s) prior to your session will greatly reduce the amount of setup time and preproduction needed for recording. Ideally, you should have separate tracks for each instrument. We are happy to offer recommendations for this process that are affordable and easy.
Check your equipment
It’s never a good feeling when a piece of equipment is faulty during a recording session. We recommend getting your guitars, drums, keyboards, cables, and any other items intended to be used for recording inspected or serviced prior to your recording date.
References/Inspiration
A reference song can be an important part of a production, as it allows us to have a baseline before starting. Although not always necessary, it will enable both the artist and producer to have a clear vision and sound for each project. If you have any songs or artists you consider an inspiration for your music, they can be a guide that allows the project to be on the right path.
